Performance at a glance
Weekly orders and invoices, month-to-date and year-to-date sales against prior year with the percentage change, and a shipping and fulfillment summary. A selector lets a manager switch between salespeople.
Case study
How I built one home for the sales team's day-to-day work, on top of Business Central.
The sales team needed a unified dashboard for the functions that support their selling: tracking performance, looking up customers, managing pricing, and following quotes.
Business Central holds the data. The team needed a purpose-built interface around it that matches how they actually work.
I designed and built a Next.js web app on the company intranet that reads from Business Central through its APIs. It brings six areas of work together in one place:
Weekly orders and invoices, month-to-date and year-to-date sales against prior year with the percentage change, and a shipping and fulfillment summary. A selector lets a manager switch between salespeople.
A customer table with month-to-date and year-to-date sales, prior-year comparisons, project counts, and quick actions.
Contact details, account financials (balance, credit limit, available credit, payment terms), a 12-month sales trend, and top products over the last three months.
Review a customer's internal price list, propose new prices line by line, then review and submit. A comparison view lines up regular, customer, and project pricing, and exports to Excel.
Search and track project quotes, create new ones, and edit project lines, including price tier, manual price, pallet pricing, and end dates.
Manage displays by location: view, add, edit, and remove.
I took it from design through deployment, and it was rolled out to roughly 40 sales reps.
The sales team now has one place for the performance numbers and sales-support tasks they rely on every day, built around their workflow instead of the ERP's screens.
If your team is working around its systems, or paying for something you could be building, I'd love to hear about it.
